Toms: Keeping current in the media

Since 2006, founder of TOMS Shoes Blake Mycoskie has traveled around the world in hopes of helping underprivileged children.  His message based on the “One for One Movement” has raised awareness about diseases children in poverty are prone to simply because they do not have shoes.  In April of 2011, Mycoskie held the 3rd  annual   “One Day Without Shoes Movement” where, according to, over 1,000 events were held in honor of Mycoskie’s movement.

This movement is an example of a major PR event because of its worldwide attraction. Not only did Mycoskie and his company reach American audiences, they also managed to engage people from South America and Europe. TOMS was able to make this movement successful by creating a bond with their customers and the children in need. By consistently posting new videos, blogs, and event ideas on their website, TOMS keeps up with their audience.
